Is Qatar Airways strict with hand luggage size? ›

Qatar Airways hand baggage rules state that the dimensions of your carry-on luggage must not exceed 50 x 37 x 25 cm. Note that these dimensions cannot be exceeded by handles, pockets, or wheels that are part of the bag. Qatar Airways has a strict policy regarding liquids, gels, and pastes.

For routes where the weight concept apply, there is no limit on the number of pieces that can be checked in as long as the weight allowance for the total number of pieces is not exceeded.

For First & Business Class – 2 pieces of baggage weighing no more than 15 kgs and of a dimension not exceeding 50x37x25cms. For Economy class – 1 piece of baggage weighing no more than 7kgs and of a dimension not exceeding 50 x 37 x 25 cms.

Laptops and laptop bags are not counted as a 'personal item' on Qatar Airways flights, so you might get threatened with an excess baggage fee if you bring them on separately. Your laptop and its bag should fit within your hand baggage allowance of 7 kg.

Typically in economy, you can bring one carry-on and one personal item. If you bring two bags, one must fit underneath your seat and the other can go into the overhead bin. If you're flying in an upgraded class like business or first, you may be allowed an additional carry-on bag.
